MOUNTAIN BIKING COURSES THIS SPRING AND SUMMER AT DALBY FOREST CYCLE HUB. 

We have an exciting range of mountain bike courses planned for the forthcoming months, with a snapshot of what’s happening below. 
 
All our courses are led by British Cycling qualified trainers with no more than 8 riders in any group. Booking is essential and must be made via the Eventbrite links against each course. Payment needs to be made at the time of booking.  
 
If you don’t have your own bike, we offer a 20% discount off the normal hire charge for course participants, but please book early to ensure a bike is available. For bike hire only, please ring us on 01751 460585 and mention which course you’re booked on. 
 
Please note that all riders must wear a suitable helmet. No helmet – no ride. 
 
Our courses are supported by Forest England and they have reduced their entry fee to Dalby from £9 to £3 for course participants. At the end of your training course, please ask for a barrier exit code from one of our team.

LEARN TO RIDE YOUR BIKE 1.5hrs - £30pp  

This course will build your child's confidence whilst developing their skills and balance. The aim of the session is to give riders all the skills required to ride a bike with pedals independently. If your child doesn't have their own bike, one can be borrowed from us, free of charge. Book your session and then ring us to reserve a bike - we will need your child's age and height.

MTB FUNDAMENTALS 2.5 hours - £40pp  

Master mountain bike fundamentals with our core skills course; a must for those new to mountain biking or the more experienced rider wanting to learn the building blocks for skill acquisition. Learn about weight shift, cornering, and front and rear wheel lifts with our coaches who will be working with you to dial in good technique to get the most from your riding.

WOMEN ONLY INTRODUCTION TO MOUNTAIN BIKING 2.5hrs - £40pp  

One of our most popular courses which aims to introduce good technique to riders wanting to start mountain biking or bring on their own skills. A mixture of technique coaching and building your skills on the trails under the instruction of our brilliant coaches.

YOUNG RIDERS  2.5hrs - £25pp  

For young aspiring mountain bikers aged 10 to 16 years. Our course for young riders is designed to give them the correct methods to develop their riding, from basics to more advanced techniques. The course will focus on those skills required to ride the red course effectively, keeping flow and making their riding more enjoyable.

Recommended for beginner and intermediate riders. 
Prerequisites: A mountain bike, helmet and some experience of mountain biking at blue grade.

Another popular Dalby coaching course which will be focusing on those ascents and descents on the red trail. This course focuses on techniques including weight shift and attack position to develop that essential flow on the trail. Join British Cycling Coach and MTB racer Rachel Connerney for another women only course.

Max. ratio 1:6 
Open to all riders aged 15 years and above. 
Recommended for beginner riders looking to ride the red or develop red grade skills. 
Prerequisites: A mountain bike, helmet and ability to ride the blue trail with confidence.

RIDE THE RED SKILLS 2.5hrs - £45pp

DROPS AND JUMPS 2.5hrs - £50pp 

Develop your techniques for jumps and drops.  This course, which is based at Dixons Hollow and Adderstone Field, is a great introduction to getting your bike airborne to clear jumps and trail features.

Open to all riders aged over 14 years. 
Recommended for intermediate riders. 
Prerequisites:  A mountain bike, helmet and some experience of riding at red grade.

ENDURO SKILLS DEVELOPMENT DAY 6hrs - £135pp  

A full day with a British Cycling coach. After an initial briefing and skill assessment, your coach will be working with you to develop your ability for speed on steep terrain. This course will be pushing black grade trails. Small groups only (maximum 4 riders). 
 
This is a great day out to develop your race skills for Enduro events or to develop your skill on steep descents. 
 
Based at Adderstone Field. 
Max. ratio 1:4. 
Open to all riders aged 18 years and above. 
Prerequisites:  some experience of riding black graded trails, and riders must use their own bike (not a hire bike). Helmets must be worn and gloves, goggles/glasses are recommended. 
Bring your own food and drink for a full day on the trails.

Mini Riders 2.5hrs - £25pp  

This course will start with the fundamentals of off-road riding and progress onto some of the trails. Start your youngster off with the correct techniques to master rocks and mud with instruction and games along the way. 
 
Suitable for ages 7 to 10 years. 
All our instructors are British Cycling qualified. 
Prerequisites: off-road bike, able to ride and pedal a bike confidently.

BESPOKE 1-2-1 COACHING SESSION with qualified British Cycling Coaches. Also available for beginners or improvers.  £60 p/hour (Minimum of 2 hour booking.)

Cancellation 

All requests for cancellations and/or transfers must be received in writing via email to: customercare@dalbyforestcyclehub.co.uk 
Changes will become effective on the date of written confirmation being received. 
The appropriate cancellation charge will apply based on the cost of your booking, as shown below. 
Extenuating circumstances are excluded and will be charged at Dalby Forest Cycle Hub’s discretion.

Between 15 and 28 calendar days (inclusive) 
50% of course fee

No transfer available. No refund given. 
Failure to attend 
Treated as late cancellation and no fee will be transferred 
 
 
In the event of an individual named on the booking form cannot attend, we will accept substitution of another suitable delegate on the condition that written notification of the substitution has been received by us prior to the course date. 
If the individual named on the booking form is unable to attend and cannot or does not wish to transfer their place to another candidate, a percentage of the fee paid may be accepted as payment towards a place on the same or another course that takes place within 3 months following the originally booked event. The amount of the course fee transferred is displayed below.

In the event of there being insufficient numbers booked onto a course, Dalby Forest Cycle Hub reserves the right to cancel or postpone the course. 
In the event of cancellation of a course by Dalby Forest Cycle Hub, we will endeavour to inform all participants two weeks before the course is due to take place, although please be aware that this is not always possible. All course fees paid will be reimbursed in full, or the payment will be transferred in full to another Dalby Forest Cycle Hub course. Dalby Forest Cycle Hub shall not accept liability for any consequential loss and shall have no liability to reimburse any other costs that may have been incurred, including transport costs, accommodation etc. 
It may be necessary, for reasons beyond the control of Dalby Forest Cycle Hub, to change the content and timing of the programme, the date, the venue, or the tutor.

Course Provisions 
Food and travel are the responsibility of the candidate. 
Your bicycle and equipment are your own responsibility. We accept no responsibility for any damage/loss or theft of bicycles or other equipment, or injury to the candidate. 
Extenuating Circumstances 
If you are unable to attend any of the courses due to extenuating circumstances, you must inform Dalby Forest Cycle Hub in writing. 
If you were unable to attend due to illness you must provide evidence in the form of a doctor’s note. 
Force Majeure 
Dalby Forest Cycle Hub shall not be liable to refund of fees or for any other penalty should courses be cancelled due to war, fire, strike lock-out, industrial action, tempest, accident, civil disturbance, closure of the forest by Forest England or any other cause whatsoever beyond their control.
