MOUNTAIN BIKING COURSES THIS SUMMER AT DALBY FOREST CYCLE HUB. 

We have an exciting range of mountain bike courses planned for the forthcoming months, with a snapshot of what’s happening below. 
All our courses are led by British Cycling qualified trainers with no more than 8 riders in any group. Booking is essential and must be made via the Eventbrite links against each course. Payment needs to be made at the time of booking but there are no hidden extra costs or booking fees. 
 
If you don’t have your own bike, we offer a discounted hire charge for course participants, but please book early to ensure a bike is available. For bike hire only, please ring us on 01751 460585 and mention which course you’re booked on. 
 
For ‘Blue Light’ staff, frontline NHS and care workers, we can offer a 50% discount off the published prices of our 2.5 or 3 hour courses (the two day British Cycling courses are not included in this offer). To qualify, please scan your work ID and details of the course you would like to attend to: accounts@dalbyforestcyclehub.co.uk 
 
Please note that all riders must wear a suitable helmet. No helmet – no ride.  

LEARN TO RIDE YOUR BIKE 1.5hrs - £25pp 

This course will build your child's confidence whilst developing their skills and balance. The aim of the session is to give riders all of the skills required to ride a bike with pedals independently.

LEARN TO RIDE IMPROVERS  2.5hrs - £26.65pp 

This is a new event for youngsters under 10s to build on basic cycling skills. 
 
This course is designed for under 10s who can balance and pedal a bike in a straight line and will cover: steering, braking, use of gears (if appropriate) to build confidence, but more importantly, have fun! 
 
Small groups of a maximum of 4 riders with fully qualified instructors.

MTB FUNDAMENTALS 2.5 hours - £40pp 

Master mountain bike fundamentals with our core skills course; a must for those new to mountain biking or the more experienced rider wanting to learn the building blocks for skill acquisition. Learn about weight shift, cornering, and front and rear wheel lifts with our coaches who will be working with you to dial in good technique to get the most from your riding. 
 
A range of 10 dates to choose from.

WOMEN ONLY INTRODUCTION TO MOUNTAIN BIKING 2.5hrs - £40pp 

One of our most popular courses which aims to introduce good technique to riders wanting to start mountain biking or bring on their own skills. A mixture of technique coaching and building your skills on the trails under the instruction of our female coaches.

Recommended for beginner riders.

YOUNG RIDERS  2.5hrs - £25pp 

For young aspiring mountain bikers aged 10 to 16 years. Our course for young riders is designed to give them the correct methods to develop their riding, from basics to more advanced techniques. The course will focus on those skills required to ride the red course effectively, keeping flow and making their riding more enjoyable. 
 
10 different coaching sessions available.

Recommended for beginner and intermediate riders. 
Prerequisites: A mountain bike, helmet and some experience of mountain biking at blue grade.

RIDE THE RED SKILLS 2.5hrs - £45pp 

Another popular Dalby coaching course which will be focusing on those ascents and descents on the red trail. This course focuses on techniques including weight shift and attack position to develop that essential flow on the trail.

Recommended for beginner riders looking to ride the red or develop red grade skills. 
Prerequisites: A mountain bike, helmet and ability to ride the blue trail with confidence.

DROPS AND JUMPS 2.5hrs - £50pp 

Develop your techniques for jumps and drops. This course, which is based at Dixons Hollow and Adderstone Field, is a great introduction to getting your bike airborne to clear jumps and trail features.

Open to all riders aged over 14 years. 
Recommended for intermediate riders. 
Prerequisites:  A mountain bike, helmet and some experience of riding at red grade.

BACK IN BLACK SKILLS COURSE 2.5hrs - £50pp 

This course is for those riders looking to push their skills on the black trails or develop enduro skills. Our coach will be working with rides on the World Cup Course and other trails from Adderstone Field. Using video analysis and with a small group size, this course will give you the skills and confidence to bring your riding on so you can tackle the steepest drops and the hardest features. 
 
Seven dates to choose from.

Open to all riders aged 18 years and above. 
Recommended for advanced riders. 
Prerequisites: Able to ride the red trail with confidence

eMTB COACHING 2.5hrs - £45pp 

Our eMTB course has one aim – for you to get the most out of your investment! Learn how to set up your eMTB, learn basic eMTB skills and practice power management to negotiate trail features whilst distributing effective weight shift. 
 
This introductory eMTB course has seven different dates to choose from. 
Based at Low Dalby

Open to all riders aged over 18 years. 
Recommended for new eMTB riders or those looking to purchase their first eMTB. 
Prerequisites: eMTB, helmet and ability to ride green trails.

BRITISH CYCLING FUNDAMENTALS OF MTB LEADERSHIP Two Days - £265pp 

This qualification is ideal for anyone who wants to lead groups using mixed road and off-road environments. This might include rides that are already taking place but require development and insurance, or perhaps you are looking to organise an activity for your school, college, activity centre, or simply a group of friends. Your remit would be to lead on terrain that ranges from the urban fringe and gravel tracks through to open countryside, woodland and most trail centre blue routes.

Cancellation 

All requests for cancellations and/or transfers must be received in writing via email to: customercare@dalbyforestcyclehub.co.uk 
Changes will become effective on the date of written confirmation being received. 
The appropriate cancellation charge will apply based on the cost of your booking, as shown below. 
Extenuating circumstances are excluded and will be charged at Dalby Forest Cycle Hub’s discretion.

In the event of an individual named on the booking form cannot attend, we will accept substitution of another suitable delegate on the condition that written notification of the substitution has been received by us prior to the course date. 
If the individual named on the booking form is unable to attend and cannot or does not wish to transfer their place to another candidate, a percentage of the fee paid may be accepted as payment towards a place on the same or another course that takes place within 3 months following the originally booked event. The amount of the course fee transferred is displayed below.

In the event of there being insufficient numbers booked onto a course, Dalby Forest Cycle Hub reserves the right to cancel or postpone the course. 
In the event of cancellation of a course by Dalby Forest Cycle Hub, we will endeavour to inform all participants two weeks before the course is due to take place, although please be aware that this is not always possible. All course fees paid will be reimbursed in full, or the payment will be transferred in full to another Dalby Forest Cycle Hub course. Dalby Forest Cycle Hub shall not accept liability for any consequential loss and shall have no liability to reimburse any other costs that may have been incurred, including transport costs, accommodation etc. 
It may be necessary, for reasons beyond the control of Dalby Forest Cycle Hub, to change the content and timing of the programme, the date, the venue, or the tutor.

Course Provisions 
Food and travel are the responsibility of the candidate. 
Your bicycle and equipment are your own responsibility. We accept no responsibility for any damage/loss or theft of bicycles or other equipment, or injury to the candidate. 
Extenuating Circumstances 
If you are unable to attend any of the courses due to extenuating circumstances, you must inform Dalby Forest Cycle Hub in writing. 
If you were unable to attend due to illness you must provide evidence in the form of a doctor’s note. 
Force Majeure 
Dalby Forest Cycle Hub shall not be liable to refund of fees or for any other penalty should courses be cancelled due to war, fire, strike lock-out, industrial action, tempest, accident, civil disturbance, closure of the forest by Forest England or any other cause whatsoever beyond their control.
