ADULT MOUNTAIN BIKING COURSES THIS SPRING AND SUMMER AT DALBY FOREST CYCLE HUB. 

We have an exciting range of mountain bike courses planned for the forthcoming months, with a snapshot of what’s happening below. 
 
All our courses are led by British Cycling qualified trainers with no more than 8 riders in any group. Booking is essential and must be made via the links against each course. Payment needs to be made at the time of booking.  
 
If you don’t have your own bike, we offer a 20% discount off the normal hire charge for course participants, but please book early to ensure a bike is available. For bike hire only, please ring us on 01751 460585 and mention which course you’re booked on. 
 
Please note that all riders must wear a suitable helmet. No helmet – no ride. 
 
Our courses are supported by Forest England and they have reduced their entry fee to Dalby from £9 to £3 for course participants. At the end of your training course, please ask for a barrier exit code from one of our team.

MTB FUNDAMENTALS 2.5 hours - £45pp  COURSE DIFFICULTY 2/5 

Master mountain bike fundamentals with our core skills course; a must for those new to mountain biking or the more experienced rider wanting to learn the building blocks for skill acquisition. E-BIKE EXPLORERS 2 hours - £40pp  COURSE DIFFICULTY 2/5 

Join our new ebike specific guided ride, for a ride in nature and get to see the sights of the Great Yorkshire Forest. We offer discounted ebike hire from our fleet of ebikes at our hub right in the heart of beautiful North Yorkshire. With one of our qualified guides, you will not only get some coaching tips on your riding but information on the forest. Our ebikes will allow you to cover the terrain with ease and get to see the sculpture and viewpoints around the forest. The ride will be on wide forest tracks and a max of blue graded trails depending on the group ability.

Take your riding to the next level with this popular Dalby coaching course, designed to help you master the red trail. Focused on key skills like the application of weight shift, drop offs, descents, and berms, and maintaining flow, you'll gain the confidence to tackle both ascents and descents. Coaching takes place on select sections of the Dalby Red Trail.

Open to all riders aged 14 years and above 
Recommended for beginner riders looking to ride the red or develop red grade skills

MEN'S OVER 40 SHRED THE RED SKILLS 2.5hrs - £50pp COURSE DIFFICULTY 4/5  

This is a coaching course designed specifically for men aged 40+ who want to progress their riding, sharpen technique, and enjoy red trails without unnecessary risk. This course recognises that riding smarter matters just as much as riding harder—helping you build skills that last. 
Focused on real-world trail application, we’ll work on weight shift, line choice, rollable drops, descents, berms, and maintaining flow, giving you the tools to ride efficiently and confidently on both climbs and descents. Coaching takes place on selected sections of the Dalby Red Trail, with plenty of time to practise and refine.

Take your riding to the next level with this exciting course at Dixons Hollow and Adderstone Field. Perfect for beginners or those wanting to refine their skills, this session will teach you how to get your bike airborne and confidently tackle steep, technical trail features

INTRODUCTION TO THE BLACK ROUTE 2.5hrs - £55pp COURSE DIFFICULTY 4/5  

Step up your riding and get confidently introduced to black-graded trails in Dalby Forest. Intro to Black is designed for riders who are comfortable on red trails and are ready to experience the added technical challenge, speed, and commitment that black trails bring. 
With one of our qualified and experienced instructors, you’ll be guided onto selected, black-graded trail features appropriate to the group. The session focuses on building confidence, improving technique, and understanding how to approach steeper, rougher, and more technical terrain safely. Expect coaching on line choice, body position, braking, and trail awareness, with plenty of opportunities to stop, session features, and progress at your own pace. 
 
What to Expect: 
• A 2.5-hour coached and guided ride in Dalby Forest 
• Introduction to black-graded trail features 
• Coaching on technical riding skills and trail management 
• Supportive, confidence-building progression at your pace

STEEP AND TECHNICAL 2.5hrs - £55pp   COURSE DIFFICULTY 4/5 

A session designed honing your skills with this intensive course designed for experienced or developing riders. After an initial briefing and skills assessment, the focus shifts to mastering speed and control on steep terrain. Working in a small group of up to four riders, you'll tackle black-grade trails with expert guidance and coaching. 
 
This is a great day out to develop your race skills for Enduro events or to develop your skill on steep descents.

Open to all riders aged 16 years and above 
Prerequisites:  some experience of riding black graded trails, and riders must use their own bike (not a hire bike) - helmets must be worn and gloves, goggles/glasses are recommended

Cancellation 

All requests for cancellations and/or transfers must be received in writing via email to: info@dalbyforestcyclehub.co.uk 
Changes will become effective on the date of written confirmation being received. 
The appropriate cancellation charge will apply based on the cost of your booking, as shown below. 
Extenuating circumstances are excluded and will be charged at Dalby Forest Cycle Hub’s discretion.

29 calendar days or more 
No fee 
Between 15 and 28 calendar days (inclusive) 
50% of course fee 
Between 1 and 14 calendar days (inclusive) 
No transfer available and no refund given 
Failure to attend 
Treated as late cancellation and no fee will be transferred 
 
 
In the event of an individual named on the booking form cannot attend, we will accept substitution of another suitable delegate on the condition that written notification of the substitution has been received by us prior to the course date. 
If the individual named on the booking form is unable to attend and cannot or does not wish to transfer their place to another candidate, a percentage of the fee paid may be accepted as payment towards a place on the same or another course that takes place within 3 months following the originally booked event. The amount of the course fee transferred is displayed below.

In the event of there being insufficient numbers booked onto a course, Dalby Forest Cycle Hub reserves the right to cancel or postpone the course. 
In the event of cancellation of a course by Dalby Forest Cycle Hub, we will endeavour to inform all participants two weeks before the course is due to take place, although please be aware that this is not always possible. All course fees paid will be reimbursed in full, or the payment will be transferred in full to another Dalby Forest Cycle Hub course. Dalby Forest Cycle Hub shall not accept liability for any consequential loss and shall have no liability to reimburse any other costs that may have been incurred, including transport costs, accommodation etc. 
It may be necessary, for reasons beyond the control of Dalby Forest Cycle Hub, to change the content and timing of the programme, the date, the venue, or the tutor.

Course Provisions 
Food and travel are the responsibility of the candidate. 
Your bicycle and equipment are your own responsibility. We accept no responsibility for any damage/loss or theft of bicycles or other equipment, or injury to the candidate. 
Extenuating Circumstances 
If you are unable to attend any of the courses due to extenuating circumstances, you must inform Dalby Forest Cycle Hub in writing. 
If you were unable to attend due to illness you must provide evidence in the form of a doctor’s note. 
Force Majeure 
Dalby Forest Cycle Hub shall not be liable to refund of fees or for any other penalty should courses be cancelled due to war, fire, strike lock-out, industrial action, tempest, accident, civil disturbance, closure of the forest by Forest England or any other cause whatsoever beyond their control.
