Looking to master the black route or get some tips on nailing big drops? Maybe you’re just getting into mountain biking and you’d like some tips on the basics? Or perhaps you have a son or daughter who’s looking to take their first pedal strokes on a proper bike? 
Our line-up of courses for this spring covers all this and more, with something for everyone, no matter your age or ability. We want everyone to enjoy the tracks and trails, to share our passion for life on two wheels and to make this fantastic sport and pastime accessible to all. 
 
That’s why we’re proud to offer more than 100 courses from March to May. These are a great way to build your riding confidence, get together with friends or occupy the kids during the school holidays. All our courses are led by British Cycling qualified trainers with no more than eight riders in any group. And if you don’t have your own bike, we offer a 20% discount off the normal hire charge for course participants but please book early by phone to ensure a bike is available.

Please note that all riders must wear a suitable helmet. No helmet – no ride. 
 
LEARN TO RIDE YOUR BIKE 
1.5hrs - £30pp plus booking fee 
 
This course will build your child's confidence whilst developing their skills and balance. The aim of the session is to give riders all of the skills required to ride a bike with pedals independently. Participants will learn how to mount and dismount the bike correctly, how to balance, steer and brake. 
 
LEARN TO RIDE IMPROVERS 
2.5hrs - £26.65pp - dates coming soon! 
 
This course is designed for under 10s who can balance and pedal a bike in a straight line and will cover steering, braking and use of gears (if appropriate) to build confidence but more importantly to have fun!

MTB FUNDAMENTALS 
2.5 hours - £40pp plus booking fee 
 
Master mountain bike fundamentals with our core skills course; a must for those new to mountain biking or the more experienced rider wanting to learn the building blocks for skill acquisition. Learn about weight shift, cornering, and front and rear wheel lifts with our coaches to get the most from your riding. 
WOMEN ONLY INTRODUCTION TO MOUNTAIN BIKING 
2.5hrs - £40pp plus booking fee 
 
One of our most popular courses which aims to introduce good technique to riders wanting to start mountain biking or bring on their own skills. A mixture of technique coaching and building your skills on the trails under the instruction of our brilliant coaches. Open to all female riders aged 14 years and above. 
YOUNG RIDERS 2.5hrs 
£25pp plus booking fee 
 
For young aspiring mountain bikers aged 10 to 16 years, our course for young riders is designed to teach them the correct methods to develop their riding, from basics to more advanced techniques. The course will focus on those skills required to ride the red course effectively, keeping flow and making their riding more enjoyable. 
RIDE THE RED SKILLS 2.5hrs 
£45pp plus booking fee 
 
Another popular Dalby coaching course which will be focusing on those ascents and descents on the red trail. This course focuses on techniques including weight shift and attack position to develop that essential flow on the trail. 
DROPS AND JUMPS 
2.5hrs - £50pp plus booking fee 
 
These sessions are a great way to develop your techniques for jumps and drops. Based at Dixon’s Hollow and Adderstone Field, it’s a great introduction to getting your bike airborne to clear jumps and trail features. 
BACK IN BLACK SKILLS COURSE 
2.5hrs - £55pp plus booking fee 
 
This course is for those riders looking to push their skills on the black trails or develop enduro skills. Our coach will be working with riders on the World Cup Course and other trails from Adderstone Field. Using video analysis and with a small group size, this course will give you the skills and confidence to bring your riding on so you can tackle the steepest drops and the hardest features. 
Mini Riders 
2.5hrs - £25pp plus booking fee 
 
This course will start with the fundamentals of off-road riding and progress onto some of the trails. Start your youngster off with the correct techniques to master rocks and mud with instruction and games along the way. Suitable for ages 7 to 10 years. 
WOMEN ONLY IMPROVERS COURSE 
2.5hrs - £40pp plus booking fee 
 
This course will recap on core MTB techniques and cover drop-offs whilst maintaining flow on the trail and descents. To take part in this course, riders need some experience of riding the blue and red routes. Starts from Dalby Forest Cycle Hub at Low Dalby 
GUIDED RIDES 5.5hrs - £35pp plus booking fee 
 
Join one of our local guides for a day out on your mountain bike, taking in the forest and glorious North Yorkshire Moors. The ride will cover 15 and 20 miles and, as well as being fun, will be informative with our guide providing tips on navigation, kit to carry and some riding tips along the way, all to help you get the most from wild rides. 
Look out for more courses being added for the summer and beyond. Also, another great reason to join us on our courses is that they are supported by Forest England who have reduced the entry fee to Dalby Forest from £9 to £3 for course participants. At the end of your training course, ask for a barrier exit code from one of our team.
